Formula Student
Today, one of the advantages of a technical institution of higher education over others is the possibility of implementing engineering solutions on technical platforms, including for students. Such educational and engineering projects include «Formula Student», the main task of which for students is to independently design, assemble and present an SAE class car. This project is considered a student Formula-1. More than 500 teams from leading technical universities in the world participate in it. In Ukraine, Odessa National Polytechnic University and the National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» participate in this program.
Our university is also a polytechnic, so the Department of OTZV decided to participate in this program. First of all, this engineering program is related to transport technologies and automotive engineering. Therefore, the Department of Transport Technologies headed by Turpak Serhiy Mykolayovych and the Department of Automobiles headed by Sosyk Andriy Yuriyovych are actively participating.
On September 25, 2020, the representative of the initiative group Ovchinnikov O.V. held negotiations with the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Pasichnyk Vitaliy Anatolyovych, which resulted in an agreement on participation in the «Formula Student» program of the departments of our NU «Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic» and a detailed roadmap for resolving organizational issues was developed. Vitaliy Anatolyovych noted that such a glorious city as Zaporizhzhia, which has a number of enterprises for the repair and manufacture of automobile and aircraft engines, must certainly be a participant in this educational and engineering project.
Since this program involves International Engineering Competitions, it is necessary to resolve a number of issues related to the design of cars, economics, organization of international relations, and training of athletes, which allows us to use all the innovative projects of our famous Machine.
