The Boris Kolesnikov Foundation held the first stage of the «Aviator 2017» competition in 44 universities of Ukraine
The first stage of the all-Ukrainian project «Aviator 2017», implemented by the Boris Kolesnikov Charitable Foundation for students of technical specialties, took place. The competition is being held for the sixth time. 6,500 students registered to participate in it. «Aviator 2017» has an unprecedented scope: it covered 44 leading universities of the country and secured the title of the most popular educational project in Ukraine.
President of the Charitable Foundation Boris Kolesnikov congratulated the contestants on the start of the project. «This competition is very important for Ukraine and Ukrainian youth. Recently, both state and government bodies, in my opinion, have been misdirecting young people in getting an education. Political science, sociology and philosophy are important specialties, but it is technical progress that will bring success to Ukraine and the world. It is necessary that our students be ready for it and the fourth wave of industrialization, when the leading Western countries return production to their countries and invest huge amounts of money in the economy. We have engineering talents and personnel for today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, and this competition and technical education will bring success to young people in life,» said Boris Kolesnikov.
The first stage of «Aviator 2017» took place in educational institutions represented by contestants. Students had an hour to demonstrate their knowledge in the field of exact sciences and secure a place in the second round, which will be held in January 2017.
Last year, 35 students of Zaporizhzhia National Technical University participated in «Aviator», five of them won the project. This time, the number of people willing to compete for a trip to the Le Bourget air forum in France has increased. There are no analogues of this project in Ukraine, only thanks to it students discover the great world of aviation.
We remind you that the «Aviator» of the Boris Kolesnikov Foundation is an all-Ukrainian project for students of technical specialties. It consists of five stages: testing in exact sciences and English; tests of general knowledge of the theory and history of aviation; tasks from the expert jury; protection of own project. The winners will be the 100 best students, their names will be announced in March 2017. Next summer they will go to the Le Bourget International Air Show in Paris.
