The Boris Kolesnikov Foundation launched the All-Ukrainian Aviator 2017 competition
On October 20, the National Technical University of Ukraine «Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» held the grand opening of the all-Ukrainian educational project «Aviator 2017».
The competition is held by the Boris Kolesnikov Charitable Foundation for the sixth year in a row. «Aviator» is designed to support Ukrainian students of technical specialties, and to encourage the best of them with trips to the Farnborough International Air Shows in Great Britain and Le Bourget in France.
President of the Charitable Foundation Borys Kolesnikov congratulated the potential contestants and members of the jury on the opening of «Aviator 2017». According to him, the project educates a young elite whose task is to develop the industry in Ukraine. «The world is now on the threshold of the fourth technical revolution, the fourth stage of industrialization. Ukraine has huge opportunities, so it is important to give young people an idea of how and what their colleagues around the world are working on. The main goal of the competition is to show students the modern aviation and space world,» said Boris Kolesnikov.
As the organizers of the competition noted, «Aviator 2017» has become larger – the aviation higher education institutions and colleges of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Kropyvnytskyi, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Slovyansk, Kryvyi Rih and Kremenchuk have joined the country’s polytechnic universities. Now all students who receive technical education and are interested in aviation can participate in «Aviatorov».
Rector of NTUU «Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute» Mykhailo Zgurovsky wished the students success in the project. «It is a great honor to host the »Aviator 2017« competition in the walls of KPI. I wish you success, so that all your wishes and bold dreams come true, and you gradually change our country. I want each of you to become a famous designer, an outstanding person, and most importantly, that you become citizens with a capital letter,» he emphasized.
Students of technical specialties can register in «Aviator» on the website of the Foundation http://www.kolesnikovfund.org until November 27 inclusive. From November 2016 to March 2017, five stages await contestants – testing in exact sciences, aviation English and aviation history, checking knowledge of the basics aviation, solutions to problems from experts in the field and protection of motivational presentations.
At the end of the competition, the project’s expert jury headed by designer Dmytro Kiva will select a hundred winners who will go to the Le Bourget International Air Show in Paris next summer.
