Emotions on the verge: streetball competition for the championship of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University
On April 4, 2019, the final of the streetball competition for the championship of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University was held.
Streetball, or as it is also called, street basketball – one of the varieties of basketball in which teams play on one hoop. Although this type of team game originated in the USA, today it has many fans all over the world, and students of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic are not lagging behind the trends.
Six finalist teams faced each other on the field, each of which fought for the championship until the last second under the close supervision of the head judge – Olena Volodymyrivna Milkina. The judging panel also included:
- Yurii Igorovich Dudnik;
- Andriy Oleksandrovych Zherzherunov;
- National category judge – 3rd year student Eduard Anatolyovich Telcharov.
The competition secretary – Valentin Nikolayovich Bakush helped record the results of the games.
After a two-hour game marathon, the prizes were distributed as follows:
- 1st place – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering;
- 2nd place – Faculty of Engineering and Physics;
- 3rd place – Faculty of Transport.
Teams from other faculties also competed for the championship, which resulted in the following places:
- 4th place – Faculty of Computer Science and Technology;
- 5th place – Faculty of Construction, Architecture and Design;
- 6th place – Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
We congratulate the winners of the competition, and we wish all participants the inspiration and desire to fight for the championship next year. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who created this sports holiday, namely – the teaching staff of the Department of Physical Culture, Olympic and Non-Olympic Sports, and the Trade Union Committee of Students of Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University.
