WOW effect of cooperation

As part of the All-Ukrainian campaign aimed at the development of youth entrepreneurship, the Forum «Business Youth: WOW effect of cooperation» was held in Zaporizhzhia on November 30. The organizers of the Forum were the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Department of Youth, Physical Culture and Sports of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, the Center for «Development of Corporate Social Responsibility», the UN Population Fund, and the Zaporizhzhia Regional Youth Center.

The event was attended by employers of the Zaporizhzhia region, represented by directors, owners and top managers of the largest enterprises of Zaporizhzhia. The event was attended by more than 140 active young people from all over Zaporizhzhia who plan to develop their careers in Ukrainian companies. Among the young people present were students of «Mashinka» who are interested in working in Ukraine.

Master classes were held on teamwork, self-presentation, and successful employment with the participation of speakers from Lifecell, Coca-Cola, and Apercon.

During the Forum, eight new companies: Zaporizhstal, Zaporizhzhia Confectionery Factory, Zaporizhzhia Titanium-Magnesium Combine, ZarorizhOilGroup, Epicenter, Motor Sich, Nibulon, and Progress — signed the Pact for Youth. This is the main document that confirms that entrepreneurs are ready to work with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to promote employment of young people of various specialties.

A presentation of a unique notebook «Hitchhiking to a Career» was held, which will help young people consciously assess their own aspirations, the requirements of the professional sphere and effectively plan their further career development.

The forum was held with the aim of establishing a dialogue between companies and active youth within the framework of the «Ukrainian Pact for Youth-2020» initiative.

What was new was that this forum did not resemble a job fair. Company representatives clearly outlined and criticized the modern generation. This form of speech was not aimed at blaming or humiliating the younger generation, but so that students would understand what large companies demand of them.

In conclusion, I would like to add that the statistics of the Ministry of Youth and Sports show that the employment situation of the younger generation is in a terrible state: 23% – this is the unemployment rate among people aged 15-24; 52% of young people work outside their specialty; 36% have an insufficient level of knowledge and skills required by a modern entrepreneur. It is such forums that will help solve this disappointing situation. The main thing – not to stop at what has been achieved and move forward, and, later, we will become the same European developed country as France, Germany or Great Britain.
