Open Day at ZNTU
Choosing a profession is one of the most important decisions in life. A profession is in most cases for life. That is why it is very important to approach the choice of a future specialty thoughtfully and wisely. The first step is choosing an educational institution. For this, in fact, Open Days are held every year at almost all universities in Ukraine. «Mashynka» is no exception. On December 14, the doors of our university were hospitably opened to applicants.
As usual, everyone who wanted to get information about ZNTU gathered in the assembly hall and lecture halls. Our esteemed rector, Serhiy Borisovich Belikov, greeted everyone present and encouraged them to enroll in our university. Next, the applicants and their parents went to the faculties to learn more about the specialty that interested them. There, the deans and representatives of the faculties familiarized those present with the admission rules in 2014, and also provided comprehensive information about the faculties and specializations. After reviewing the information, the guests were invited to ask questions.
As we can see, the procedure of the Open Day does not change from year to year. In my opinion, almost every student of «Mashinka» can remember how he, as a 9th, 10th or 11th grader, first came to the walls of ZNTU, took a seat in the assembly hall and listened to the rector’s speech, not yet fully understanding that these walls would become a second home for 5 long years, that Serhiy Borisovich’s speech would be heard more than a dozen times, and the assembly hall would become a place where the miracle of student creativity takes place. Remember how you ran through the corridors of the university building with frightened eyes and whispered «who planned these damn corridors?!», as students, a little condescendingly, but with a smile in their eyes, told you what kind of beast student life is and how to fight it.
Given the number of applicants who attended the Open Day, we hope that next year our friendly family will be replenished with a considerable number of talented, ambitious and cheerful young people. At least the university administration is doing everything possible, and sometimes even impossible, for this. Open Day is the first close meeting with those to whom career guidance work is directed and those who, perhaps, in the near future will become the pride of the Zaporizhzhia «Mashynka». We hope that after this event a considerable number of students will seriously decide to enter ZNTU. And all we can say is – Welcome!
