Day of Dignity and Freedom
On November 21, Ukrainians celebrate one of the new but significant holidays in the history of Ukraine – the Day of Dignity and Freedom.
The holiday is being celebrated for the fourth year in a row, in accordance with the Presidential Decree, in honor of a significant and fateful event in recent Ukrainian history – the 2013 Revolution of Dignity.
The purpose of the holiday is not only to honor the patriotism and courage of Ukrainians who were not afraid to stand up in defense of democracy, but also to tell future generations about how people fought for their rights and national dignity.
In Zaporizhzhia, on this occasion, a solemn rally and laying of flowers was held on Maidan Heroes near the Zaporizhzhia Regional Administration, where students of the Zaporizhzhia National Technical University also took part.
The rally was attended by regional governor Kostyantyn Bril, people’s deputy Ihor Artyushenko, deputy and veteran of the ATO Vyacheslav Zaitsev, heads of Zaporizhzhia universities, including the rector of Zaporizhzhia National Technical University Serhiy Borisovych Belikov, officials, youth, police and military. Also at the rally were representatives of three church denominations who prayed for Ukraine and for the heroes who died for the independence of our country.
Mashinka students, despite the gloomy and cold weather, came to honor the memory of those who died on the Maidan, who gave their lives for the bright future of our country. To the question, is it meaningful to hold such events? – all those interviewed answered an unequivocal «YES», because Ukrainians should remember their heroes who fearlessly fought for their rights and national dignity.
Well, let’s wish everyone happiness and a peaceful sky above their heads!
