Motorist’s Day at ZNTU
On October 29, a holiday is celebrated in Ukraine – Motorist’s Day. «Mashinka» celebrated this holiday in a special way this time! On October 27, a new exhibition – «Zaporozhets» – was opened in the Museum of the History of Technical Progress of ZNTU. This ZAZ-965 is not simple. This is the second car that came off the assembly line of the Komunar plant at the time. This iconic exhibit was presented to our university by the family of Stepan Ivanovich Kravchun, a 1965 graduate of ZNTU. As Stepan Ivanovych said: «You see, Mashinka is my home!» He worked his way up from a mechanic at the «Komunar» automobile plant to the general director of the «Auto ZAZ» production association.
«Considerable assistance in today’s event was provided by the Museum of retro cars »Phaeton«, the director of which is a graduate of the automotive faculty of ZTU Dmytro Yuriyovich Poznyak, as well as the dean of the transport faculty of ZNTU Oleksiy Feliksovich Kuzkin» – noted the director of the ZNTU museum N.V. Derkach.
As part of this event, the results of the «Driving» competition held by the «Mig» newspaper were summed up. The organizers of the competition were: the Faculty of Transport of ZNTU, the military automobile traffic safety inspection «Zaporozhavtotrans», the public organization of the Red Cross Society, the insurance company «Oranta Sich» and the Museum of retro equipment «Phaeton». The winners of the competition received ZNTU mugs, military uniforms and kits from the Red Cross. And also, the host of the contest – Viktor Aryanovsky conducted a quiz on 3 questions on the history of ZAZ. The winner of the quiz was Anokhina Hanna, who received an insurance certificate.
The students of ZNTU are sincerely grateful to the family of Stepan Ivanovich Kravchun for such a wonderful gift! We hope that the symbol of Zaporizhzhia will become an integral part of our beloved «Mashinka»!
