Ukrainian Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship «Spas»
On April 1, 2017, the Ukrainian Hand-to-Hand Combat Championship «Spas» was held in Zaporizhzhia at the Sports and Athletics Arena. The participants of the student team «Shield» became its winners and prize-winners.
In the weight category up to 85 kg (age 17+), our students Shepel Vadim (CH-316) and Gladun Dmytro (UFKS-115) competed for 1st-2nd place. The fierce fight continued throughout the fight and until the last moment it was impossible to determine the winner and only the judges in the last round awarded the victory to Vadim.
In the category up to 75kg of the same age, Gnedko Volodymyr (IF-826-2sp) looked worthy and the audience was greatly surprised by the «objective» judging when one dubious point decided the fate of the winners of this category of athletes not in favor of Volodymyr. Instead of the expected 1st place, he ended up in 3rd place. Well, it turns out that you have to be three times stronger so that the judges do not have any questions.
Weight category 65kg (age 19+). Volodymyr Mkhitaryan (MTU-155) surprised the participants with his unique technique and unconventional approach to fighting and deservedly took third place.
Among women, Viktoria Panchenko (UFKS-316) in the 65kg weight category (age 19+) won an honorable second place in a fierce fight.
