The battle of the titans is the way to victory

05.09.2015 a game took place between the Zaporizhzhia handball team «ZNTU-ZAS» and «CSKA» (Kyiv). During the warm-up, it was clear that both teams were extremely serious and this match would be a real battle.

The Zaporizhzhia team started the first half actively, but the Kyiv team acted unitedly in defense – no one missed «easy» goals.

By the fifth minute, the score was even. Maksym Voliyakov, who kept the Zaporizhzhia goal «dry» with his saves and skillful actions, motivated the players. The goalkeeper came off the bench – the pace of the game accelerated. Vyacheslav Lochman, taking a timeout, revived the game of «ZNTU-ZAS» with his instructions, both in attack and defense.

Already at the 14th minute of the first half, ZNTU took the lead and held the course of the match in their hands, but at the end of the first half, the defense of «CSKA» became impenetrable, and in the last seconds the Kyiv team managed to snatch a one-goal advantage with a well-aimed shot by Stanislav Plyasun. The score was 15-16 in favor of the capital team.

At the beginning of the second half of the game, the Zaporizhzhia team lost ground, not answering anything to the 5 points of «CSKA».

The ZNTU students who came to support their team (there were quite a few of them – more than 200 people) tried to ignite and motivate the players with applause and various chants.

This game was quite interesting with various «battles». The first was the battle between Maksym Volyuval (goalkeeper) and Bohdan Panchenko (Kyiv goal). They showed real skill and speed of reaction. It was Panchenko who gave the Kyiv team a boost, scoring a large number of goals.

The fans were also surprised by the actions of Mykhailiutenko («ZNTU-ZAS») and Tyutiunnyk («CSKA»), who scored 11 goals each. Mykhailiutenko showed the audience real sporting aggression and a thirst for victory.

It was Mikhailutenko who helped his team reduce the deficit to 1 goal, but the end of the second half was a clear failure for the players of «Mashinka».

In the last minutes, «CSKA» gathered courage and was able to put pressure on «ZNTU-ZAS». The score was 32-37 in favor of Kyiv.

The match turned out to be interesting, and both teams showed the fans a professional level of play and true dedication to their work.
