Recovery meeting on emotional stabilization "Point of peace" from the stakeholder of the Department of Psychology Kateryna Rakytyanska
In November, the Department of Psychology facilitated a university-wide recovery meeting on emotional stabilization “Point of Calm,” which was attended by students of the “Management”, “Rehabilitation”, and “Psychology” majors. These meetings for our students were conducted by the department’s stakeholder Kateryna Rakytyanska, psychologist, psychotherapist in Gestalt, CBT, EMDR approaches, art therapist, family and group therapist, trainer.
The last meeting took place live on November 8.
The participants discussed practical topics close to everyone:
– what to do when tension accumulates, and even on a calm day there is a feeling of irritability
– how to help yourself when, after prolonged stress, it seems that there is no strength for work or communication
– how to learn to calm anxiety not only with thoughts, but also through the body, breathing, touch, movement
The participants shared their own observations, asked questions about how to quickly return to a state of support, how to respond to stress without self-criticism, and how to notice the first signals of overwork.
After applying practical techniques, many noted that for the first time in a long time they were able to truly relax, feel their body, and reduce internal tension a little.
The project is implemented by the public organization “Crisis Support Center “Together””, in cooperation with the non-governmental, non-profit, non-religious global humanitarian organization ACTION AGAINST HUNGER (ACF), which translates as “Anti-Hunger”, and with the support of the US Agency for International Development development.
Thank you to Kateryna Rakytyanska for the relevant and useful initiative, interesting professional events and fruitful long-term professional cooperation! And to the participants – for their activity!
