In 1971, he defended his candidate’s thesis at the Scientific Council of the Odesa Polytechnic Institute on the topic “Research of emergency modes of reversible thyristor converters for electric drives” on the specialty 05.03.03 – electrical equipment. In 1990, he defended his doctoral thesis at the Scientific Council of the Institute of Electrodynamics of the Ukrainian SSR on the topic “Thyristor frequency converters with autonomous inverters for electric drives” on the specialty 05.09.12 – semiconductor power converters.
