Sports and coaching activities

The educational and professional program «Sports and Coaching» is designed for those who want to connect their future with sports, coaching, physical development of children and youth, and the organization of sports life. The program provides not only thorough knowledge of the theory of physical culture and sports, but also practical skills in planning and conducting training, teaching motor actions, developing physical qualities, assessing a person’s functional state, organizing and judging competitions, working with sports equipment and modern digital technologies.

The program’s peculiarity is the combination of sports, pedagogical, medical-biological, and managerial training. Students study anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, sports medicine, psychology, pedagogy, theory and methodology of physical education, the basics of sports training, sports management, organization of sports events, information technologies, and interactive sports. A significant part of the training is practical in nature: pedagogical and professional practice, work with children, adolescents and athletes of different ages, as well as mastering the methods of gymnastics, athletics, swimming, sports and outdoor games are provided. Students can choose disciplines from the departmental, faculty and general university catalogs and form their own educational trajectory.

After completing their studies, a graduate can work as a coach or trainer-teacher in a sport, an instructor or instructor-methodologist in physical education and sports, an organizer of sports events, a methodologist, a sports judge, a secretary of the judging panel or a timekeeper. Professional opportunities are available in children’s and youth sports schools, sports clubs and federations, physical education and recreation centers, and other institutions and organizations in the field of physical culture and sports.

The program helps to develop leadership, communication, and organizational skills necessary for successful coaching, training process management, and professional growth to methodological and managerial positions. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree, you can continue your studies in a master’s degree, receive additional qualifications, and develop in the field of sports, education, sports management, and recreation.

Training of specialists capable of solving complex specialized tasks and practical problems, characterized by the complexity and uncertainty of conditions, during professional activity in the field of physical culture and sports or in the process of learning.

Training of specialists capable of applying theoretical knowledge and practical skills to organize and implement physical culture and sports activities, planning and managing the training process of athletes of different ages, teaching motor actions and developing physical qualities of children, adolescents and young men, organizing and refereeing sports competitions, as well as solving specialized tasks in the field of physical culture and sports.
