Study visit of a representative of the Polytechnic to the University of Warwick (Coventry, United Kingdom) within the framework of the UK-UA STEM PRO program

Associate Professor of the Department of Foundry Machinery and Technologies Olga Sergienko participated in a study visit to the University of Warwick (Coventry, United Kingdom) within the framework of the UK-UA STEM PRO program. This educational program was launched on the initiative of the Foundation of the President of Ukraine for the Support of Education, Science and Sports in partnership with the University of Warwick and with the support of the UK–Ukraine Academic Diaspora Network and the Foreign Office of the United Kingdom.

After 10 weeks of online training under the guidance of British professors, the program ended with a visit of 15 Ukrainian scientists to the United Kingdom to exchange experience in organizing joint research projects and commercializing scientific achievements.

During the program, which lasted from March 25 to April 2, our associate professor, together with other Ukrainian scientists, visited the departments of chemistry, physics, biology and engineering of the University of Warwick, as well as the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG). The researchers attended a conference organised by the Warwick Institute of Engagement, visited the Warwick Innovation District and Warwick Business School. The programme of the visit included visits to the UK Battery Industrialization Center, Oxford Harwell Campus, School of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies at University College London and the Natural History Museum in London. The participants also visited the Embassy of Ukraine in London and took part in events within the Research Bridge initiative.

In addition to the associate professor of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University, the visit was also attended by researchers from the best research centers and higher education institutions of Ukraine: National University “Kyiv Aviation Institute”, Bukovina State Medical University, Kyiv School of Economics, Sumy State University, Uzhhorod National University, Lviv Polytechnic, Institute of Space Research of the NAS of Ukraine, Vinnytsia National Technical University, State Institution “Institute of Environmental Geochemistry of the NAS of Ukraine”, National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, Kharkiv National Pedagogical University named after G.S. Skovorody, Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics.
