Bright memory. Eternal memory
On August 23, 2017, at the age of 69, the scientist, teacher, head of the department «Automobiles», Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine Andriy Fedorovych Golovchuk suddenly died.
A well-known specialist in the field of mechanical engineering, who devoted his entire life to the mechanization of agriculture, passed away.
The entire work of Golovchuk A.F. was inextricably linked with Alma Mater. Andriy Fedorovych went through an academic path from an assistant to the rector of the Uman National University of Horticulture.
Coming into science young and ambitious, he combined will, determination, energy and thoroughness in his work.
The scientific research of Professor Golovchuk A.F. is aimed at improving the technical, economic and environmental indicators of tractor and combine engines. Author (co-author) of 300 scientific papers, including 29 patents, 5 monographs, 20 textbooks and manuals. Under his supervision, seven candidate dissertations were defended.
During his work, Andriy Fedorovych has achieved considerable heights: a member of specialized academic councils for the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations – National Transport University and Lviv National Agrarian University, Academician of the International Academy of Technical Education, Academician of Higher Education Sciences of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the Ukrainian Ecological Academy of Sciences.
The pedagogical, scientific and public activities of Professor Golovchuk A.F. were awarded with silver and bronze medals of the VDNH USSR; medals of the Academy of Sciences of Higher Education of Ukraine «For Success in Scientific and Pedagogical Activity», «Ivan Pulyuy», «Yaroslav Mudryi»; badges of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine «Excellent Student of Education», «Excellent Student of Technical Service of Ukraine», «Excellent Student of Agrarian Education and Science» of the 2nd and 3rd degrees; Labor award of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine «Badge of Honor»; Certificates of Honor of the Ministry of Agriculture and Industrial Complex of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine «For Special Merit to the Ukrainian People».
A public memorial service and farewell were held on August 25 in the Academic Town of the Uman National University of Horticulture. Professor A.F. Golovchuk was buried in his historical homeland – in the village of Tomashivka, Uman district, Cherkasy region.
The department staff expresses sincere condolences to the family, relatives and friends, friends and colleagues, and students of Andriy Fedorovych. We share the pain and bitterness of irreparable loss. The memory of Andriy Fedorovych Golovchuk as an outstanding scientist, teacher, and wise leader will forever remain in our hearts.
