Zaporizhia Polytechnic expands the horizons of cooperation at EAIE–2025

The following days of Zaporizhia Polytechnic University’s participation in the EAIE Conference & Exhibition 2025 (September 9–12, Gothenburg, Sweden) turned out to be no less eventful and fruitful. The Head of the Center for Internationalization and International Cooperation Alina Kazurova held a number of meaningful meetings during which new prospects for international cooperation were discussed.

It was a great pleasure to talk to Dr. again. Alexander Burdumy, Director of the International Center of Offenburg University of Applied Sciences (Germany), and to agree on further steps of our cooperation and new opportunities for the development of partnership.

The meeting with Antti Kapanen, PhD, representative of the Faculty of Technology of LAB University of Applied Sciences (Finland) was meaningful. The parties discussed academic mobility, double degrees, scientific cooperation and agreed to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation. It should be noted separately that we established ties and began to develop cooperation with both LAB University of Applied Sciences and Mid Sweden University. This was possible thanks to the support of the Zaporizhia City Development Institute, for which the university is sincerely grateful.

The meeting with representatives of the international department of Porto Polytechnic Institute (Portugal) was especially pleasant. They mentioned the visits of our colleagues to the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto within the framework of academic mobility programs and expressed their readiness to continue welcoming participants from our university.

The conversation with representatives of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon – Cristina Borges Azevedo, Vice President for Academic Services, Educational Innovation, Quality and Erasmus+, and Maria Carlos Mourato Annes, Vice President for Financial Management and Technical Services, was no less interesting. Mutual interest in developing partnership relations was confirmed.

An important highlight of the program was the special session “Ukraine in Focus: Cooperation and Impact”, organized by the European Commission together with the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine. The participants discussed further support from the EU and Erasmus+ for Ukrainian universities, in particular in the implementation of projects that help overcome the educational and social challenges of the war. The conference also included a screening of the documentary film “Academic Resilience Stories from Ukraine”, dedicated to the strength and endurance of the Ukrainian academic community.

In addition, there were many meetings with representatives of universities and organizations from different countries of the world, which open up new prospects for educational and scientific initiatives.

EAIE–2025 in Gothenburg once again proves that international cooperation in the field of higher education is not formal documents, but real partnerships based on trust, shared values and a desire for development. For students and teachers of Zaporizhia Polytechnic, this means new opportunities, inspiration and space for ideas.
