Confident struggle on the world stage!
On October 24–30, the World Taekwondo Championship (WTF) was held in the Chinese city of Wuxi — one of the most prestigious events in the world of sports.
Ukraine was worthily represented at the tournament by a student of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University, Department of Physical Culture, Olympic and Non-Olympic Sports (UFKS-413), athlete of the Zaporizhia Regional ShVSM, Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class Maksym Manenkov, who performed in the weight category up to 58 kg.
Our athlete demonstrated a high level of technique, endurance and strength of character, winning three bright victories over rivals from different countries of the world. In a tense match to reach the semifinals, Maksym faced the reigning world champion from Iran. Despite a worthy resistance, he lost by only a few points and finished the competition in fifth place, confirming his status among the world taekwondo elite.
