Open robotics tournament "RoboticUm–2025"

On November 28, the VII Open Robotics Tournament “RoboticUm–2025” took place – a bright educational and entertainment event that brought together the most creative young engineers of Zaporizhia. The event was organized by the ZPO “Kommunarsky District Center for Youth and Schoolchildren” in cooperation with the Children’s and Youth Scientific University of the National University “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic” with the support of the Department of Education and Science of the Zaporizhzhia City Council.

The goal of the tournament is to popularize STEM education among children and adolescents, develop engineering, research and invention skills, as well as involve schoolchildren in modern robotics and IT technologies.

This year, the tournament brought together young engineers, programmers and creators of the future aged 10 to 17. The theme of the competition is “Work for Life”, because it is technology that is now protecting the planet. Participants created robots capable of helping nature and people: from waste sorting systems to energy-saving solutions and maintaining the ecological balance.

The competition was held in two categories: Lego EV3/NXT/Spike and Arduino.

The participants were greeted by the rector of the university, Viktor Greshta, director of the Youth Youth Union, Olena Nazarova, and head of the department of extracurricular education, educational work and national-patriotic education of the Department of Education and Science of the Ministry of Education and Science, Tetyana Galchanska.

After hot starts, the schoolchildren took part in a master class on creating “smart” garbage cans and discussed important issues of ecology and responsible handling of waste. They also visited the Museum of the History of Technical Progress and the Educational and Scientific Center for Experiments “Quantum” of Zaporizhia Polytechnic University.

During the award ceremony, the winners and all participants received certificates and pleasant gifts from the organizers.
