Easter + movies + English = bright pre-holiday activity for schoolchildren!
On April 19, a pre-holiday class of the “Carousel of Directions” group of the Children’s and Youth Scientific University was held in the “FREETIME” youth hub. This time the topic is Easter in the cinema – not only in Ukrainian, but also in English-speaking traditions.
Under the guidance of associate professors of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation – Yuriy Polezhayev and Viktoriya Gorlachova – students of grades 6-7 took part in a language and cultural journey.
What activities did the students do?
— learned English vocabulary about Easter
— solved interesting tests
— discussed the traditions of celebrating Easter in Ukraine, the USA, Britain and other countries
— tasted Easter cakes and exchanged favorite holiday stories
— and most importantly — communicated a lot, actively, with pleasure in English, overcoming language barriers barriers
