Cycle of events for Vyshyvanka Day as part of Community Day
? On May 15, a series of events were held at the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University, which were held within the framework of the Day of Solidarity and were symbolically combined with the International Day of Families and the Day of Embroidery.
The Day of Solidarity in higher education institutions is about uniting the teaching and student communities in matters of psychological resilience and supporting each other. The Polytechnic’s events are aimed at raising awareness of the importance of collective mutual support and caring for mental health.
? The morning began with a festive march in the open air! Everyone, dressed in traditional clothes, proudly demonstrated their love for Ukrainian culture. A charge for the whole day!
The Museum of the History of Technical Progress hosted 2 creative meetings led by craftsmen Alla Shamray and Svitlana Kostyuk, as well as artist, former philosophy teacher Volodymyr Gordiychenko ⬇️
? A master class on making a motanka doll — participants learned about the sacred meaning of the amulet doll and learned how to create their own talismans.
? A master class on drawing — plots from favorite Ukrainian fairy tales came to life on paper — brightly, inspiredly, with imagination!
? A master class “My Resources” was held in the FREETIME youth hub, aimed at supporting the psychological state of students and university employees. Together with specialists from the Psychological Service of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University, Alyona Sadykina and Yegor Bobrov, the participants got acquainted with the BASIC PH technique and explored their resources. During the master class, each of the participants:
? created a map of their own resources
? learned how to integrate what supports you into their everyday life

? And also – a deep immersion in culture: during the interactive lecture-demonstration “The Embroidered Code of the Nation: Secrets of the Ukrainian System” Yana Yakovenko, founder of the traveling museum “Rodovid”, spoke about the symbolism of the vyshyvanka, the secrets of traditional wedding attire and showed unique exhibits from the collection.
