Scholarships named after Fulbright for conducting research in universities, scientific and research institutions of the USA for a period of three to nine months (Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program)
The Kyiv office of the Institute of International Education (IIE) is accepting applications for the next competition for Fulbright scholarships for study, internship and research in the 2026–2027 academic year.

Application deadline: October 15, 2025 year.
The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program provides the opportunity to conduct research at US universities, research centers, libraries, museums, archives, etc. for a period of three to nine months.
The following may participate in the competition:
- teachers and researchers from learned societies, educational and research institutions of the highest level (universities, institutes and academies) who, at the time of application, hold the scientific degree of Candidate of Sciences, Doctor of Philosophy/Doctor of Arts or Doctor of Sciences
- researchers without a scientific degree with a full higher education (specialist, master), with experience in scientific research of at least ten years and scientific authority in the relevant field of knowledge, with available publications (articles, monographs or chapters in monographs) in domestic and/or foreign (international) scientific professional publications
- cultural and artistic figures, specialists in librarianship and museum affairs, journalists and public figures – with a full higher education (specialist, master), experience in scientific research of at least ten years, significant professional achievements, scientific achievements in the chosen field of research (articles, monographs or chapters in monographs) in domestic and/or foreign (international) professional scientific publications publications
Areas of specialization: humanities, social, exact, technical and natural sciences.
General requirements for candidates:
- have Ukrainian citizenship and reside in Ukraine during the competition
- know English at a level sufficient for professional communication in an English-speaking scientific environment
- return to Ukraine for 2 years after the end of the grant period in accordance with the requirements of the J-1 visa received by participants in exchange programs.
In 2025, the Kyiv office of the Institute of International Education (IIE), which oversees the Fulbright Program, accepts documents from candidates who are in Ukraine, as well as those who were forced to leave the country after February 24, 2022 due to war.
