A student of Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic University won a gold medal at the 2025 World Summer Universiade

The 2025 FISU World University Games Summer, which are being held in Germany and will last until July 27, began on July 16. Among the athletes representing Ukraine are students of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University.

Maxim Manenkov, a student of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports Management, as well as an international Master of Sports of Ukraine, won the taekwondo competition in the weight category up to 58 kg.

Maxim won the gold medal by defeating Siravit Mahamed from Thailand with a score of 2:1. On the way to the final, the athlete defeated rivals from Portugal and Chinese Taipei, and in the semifinals he left no chance to Tamirlan Tleuls from Kazakhstan.

Maxim’s gold is the second Ukrainian medal at the 2025 Summer Universiade.
