LEGO STEM laboratory for schoolchildren on the basis of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic
In June, during the summer camp, the “LEGO STEM Laboratory” group of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic Children’s and Youth Scientific University held classes in cooperation with the “Diy” Educational Space of the Department of Education of the Energodar City Council.
The group was led by Volodymyr Osadchy, Associate Professor of the Department of Electric Drive and Automation of Industrial Installations. During the classes, participants studied the basics of robotics, programming, and engineering in a playful way using modern educational solutions for STEAM education – innovative LEGO Education SPIKE Prime constructors.
While working with LEGO Education SPIKE Prime constructors, students learned to assemble mechanisms, use sensors, and create their own robotic models. Thanks to the visual programming environment of SPIKE App, participants easily mastered logic, algorithmic thinking and creative problem solving. The group also developed teamwork skills among students, as most projects were carried out in groups. All tasks of the group are dedicated to developing leadership potential and improving skills in solving real engineering problems, which will be useful when choosing a future profession.
The designer opens the way to modern STEM professions and motivates students to explore the world of technology creatively and fun!
More technical creativity to come together with Zaporizhia Polytechnic!
