The Huawei Student Tech Challenge–2025 competition has started with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science

On October 7, Huawei Ukraine officially opened the national Student Tech Challenge–2025 competition — an educational initiative aimed at developing young technical talents in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT). The event is being held for the second year in a row, this year — with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MES).

The opening ceremony took place at Huawei’s Kyiv office in a hybrid format: representatives of the country’s leading technical universities from Kyiv were present offline. Representatives of the MES, Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University, and 120 student participants from all over Ukraine joined online. Among others, the first vice-rector of Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University Serhiy Shylo addressed the participants and partners with a welcoming speech. He wished everyone encouragement, success, fruitful communication and inspiration in future endeavors.

About 190 students and 46 teams from 20 of the best higher technical education institutions, including 14 regional universities, are participating in the competition. The teams will compete in four areas: “Radio Access Network Planning” (11 teams), “Datacom Engineering” (15), “Transport Network Engineering” (10) and “Digital Energy” (10). Students from Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Zaporizhia, Lutsk, Khmelnytskyi, Poltava, Odessa and other cities joined the competition.

Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic University will be represented at the competition by 3 teams from the Faculty of Information Security and Electronic Communications and 1 team from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering according to the competition areas.

This year, participants will have a unique opportunity to test their own radio-electronic solutions at a special testing ground, where a 5G test zone will be deployed as part of the phased deployment of fifth-generation networks in Ukraine. During the pitching sessions, teams will present solutions developed under the guidance of mentors, and based on the overall results, the jury members will determine the winners in each category.

The closing ceremony of the competition and awarding of the winners will be held on November 14 in Kyiv. And the best participants of the Student Tech Challenge–2025 will have the opportunity to do an internship at Huawei Ukraine with the prospect of employment.
