Implementation of the project "Life without Barriers: Assistance to Organizations, Communities, People with Disabilities and Children in the Affected Regions of Eastern and Northern Ukraine"
On January 13, a monitoring group visited the temporary residence (TRP) of internally displaced persons located in dormitory No. 4 of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University, consisting of:

– Tetyana Shutova — regional coordinator of the child protection cluster (CP AoR) in the Eastern region
– Alina Pereverzeva — regional coordinator of the water, sanitation and hygiene (WSH) cluster in Zaporizhia region
The visit program included communication with internally displaced persons currently living in the dormitory, analysis of the work carried out to equip the TRP with new furniture and equipment as a result of receiving charitable funds, assessment of the effectiveness of the assistance provided, as well as a meeting with representatives of the balance sheet holder of the temporary residence of IDPs. Special attention was paid to identifying problematic issues in the functioning of the ICC and planning further ways to resolve them.
Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic was represented at the meeting by:
– Andriy Ivanchenko — Vice-Rector of the University
– Vadym Dubyna — Director of the Campus
– Valeriy Ignashov — Head of the ICC in Dormitory No. 4
The reason for the monitoring visit was the implementation of the project “Life without Barriers: Assistance to Organizations, Communities, People with Disabilities and Children in the Affected Regions of Eastern and Northern Ukraine”, which is implemented by the Charity Foundation “Smile of Ukraine” with the financial support of the Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine (UHF). Within the framework of the project, 66 temporary accommodation places were equipped for evacuated residents of the village of Malokaterynivka, Kushugumsk territorial community.
Within the framework of the project, new wardrobes, beds, mattresses, chairs, bedside tables, writing and kitchen tables, sinks and work tables made of stainless steel were purchased, delivered and installed in living rooms and common areas. The residents of the MTP were also provided with bed linen, fire extinguishers, dishes, household appliances, roller blinds, mirrors and other necessary equipment. The total amount of assistance provided exceeded 1.7 million hryvnias.
All this is the result of the practical implementation of the memorandums of cooperation signed by the university rector Vitor Greshta:
