Pysanka magic: when tradition becomes inspiration
On the eve of the bright holiday of Easter, a warm and inspiring master class on making Easter eggs was held at Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic University, where everyone was able to join the ancient Ukrainian tradition.
Under the guidance of a talented craftswoman of decorative arts, a member of the Zaporizhzhia branch of the National Union of Folk Art Masters of Ukraine, Olga Pavlik, the participants learned about the symbolism of ornaments, the features of techniques and tools used in making Easter eggs, and most importantly, created their own original Easter eggs filled with special meaning.
The master class on making Easter eggs was a great opportunity to slow down in the rhythm of everyday life, feel the connection with tradition and have a good time in a sincere circle.
The guests also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the thematic exhibition of the library “Spring is coming full of miracles – Christ is Risen!”, where unique publications from the library’s collections were presented about the national features of Easter holidays, customs, rituals and the art of Easter egg making.
The master class was organized with the support of the NGO “Dyvosvit”, the student government, the trade union committee of students and the scientific library of the National University “Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic”.
May the light of Easter bring peace and harmony to your homes, fill your heart with hope and faith in yourself and the power of good!
Christ is Risen! Happy Easter to you and your loved ones.
