On March 31, the rector of the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University Viktor Greshta, the vice-rector for scientific and pedagogical work, socio-economic development and youth policy Andriy Ivanchenko and the head of the student self-government of the Faculty of Social Sciences Viktoria Pyelivanova took part in the event “Universities in the “How are you?”” ecosystem, which was held at the Kyiv School of Economics.

The event was opened by the First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska, emphasizing the importance of implementing systematic support for mental health in the field of education.

The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Andriy Vitrenko also spoke, emphasizing the need to integrate mental health programs into higher education institutions education.

During the event, a presentation was presented on the topic “3D ecosystem “How are you?”: the role and place of universities in it”, which outlined the concept of integrating higher education institutions into the system of supporting students’ mental health.

Special attention was paid to the connection between mental health and the economy, as reported by Doctor of Economic Sciences Andriy Dligach.

The participants of the event also joined the panel discussion, during which the role of higher education institutions in forming a culture of psychological resilience was discussed, and the work of the Psychological Service of the National University “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic” was also presented. The main areas of activity of the service were demonstrated, including training, individual consultations and group classes for students.

The second part of the event included a presentation of UNICEF research on Ukrainians’ perceptions of mental health, a lecture by Natalia Kryvda on collective trauma and cultural memory, as well as a practical workshop on designing solutions to create a new culture of coping strategies.

During the event, the importance of further development of initiatives aimed at supporting students’ mental health and integrating such programs into the education system of our country was noted.
