Over 500 opportunities: Ukrainian researchers are preparing to participate in Horizon Europe
The National Contact Point for Research Infrastructures, which operates at Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University, has begun active consulting with Ukrainian scientists on submitting applications for open competitions of the Horizon Europe program. The competitions are open for a short period of time, so intensive preparation of project applications and formation of consortia that unite researchers around common scientific tasks is underway.
The representatives of the National Contact Point are approached by both scientists from our university and colleagues from other educational institutions, institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, representatives of various NGOs and businesses.
A university team has been formed, which includes specialists in artificial intelligence and big data processing. Their competencies are needed for project proposals related to nature restoration for sustainable agriculture, biodiversity research, digital solutions for small and medium-sized farms, agricultural and natural resource monitoring.
Following a recent visit by a delegation from Riga Technical University to the Polytechnic, a proposal appeared to prepare a joint project application related to the development of student training practices in the field of green technologies in the aviation industry.
We have an offer from King’s College London to join the consortium to participate in the “MSCA4Ukraine” competition, aimed at developing academic mobility of scientists and students. This will provide opportunities to implement the practical part of the research and gain access to research equipment, which is important in the conditions of damage to the infrastructure of Zaporizhia Polytechnic.
Together with aviation enterprises of the Zaporizhia region, we continue to develop joint applications aimed at developing tools for certification of anti-icing systems, research of ice-repellent materials and coatings, testing of anti-icing systems.
Cooperation with the Ukrainian Business Council, the Zaporizhia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Engineering – Automation – Mechanical Engineering cluster, the Ukrainian Association of Smart Agro-Industry NGO and other partners is actively developing.
Working The program for 2025 includes more than fifty open competitions, and Zaporizhia Polytechnic University unites scientists from different fields, so each research team will be able to find a suitable competition and join the European Research Area.
We invite researchers to cooperate with the National Research Council and together create powerful international consortia. Find details on the website: https://zp.edu.ua/nauka-2/natsionalnyj-kontaktnyj-punkt-za-napriamom-doslidnytski-infrastruktury/
