Support for the Polytechnic from the Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) in partnership with the Howard G. Buffett Foundation (HGBF)

On January 23, 2025 at 4 a.m., as a result of the impact of Iskander ballistic missiles on the territory of Zaporizhia, the blast wave caused significant damage to windows, doors, balcony blocks and slopes in dormitory No. 5 (Zaporizhzhya, 60 Universytetska/Zhukovsky St.).

Thanks to close and consistent cooperation with our university partners, we were able to receive important support from the American organization Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) in partnership with the Howard G. Buffett Foundation (HGBF).

Within the framework of the window program created by GEM in partnership with HGBF, 84 window structures with a total area of ​​172.7662 m² were replaced, which significantly improved the living conditions of the dormitory residents and more guaranteed a sense of security and comfort.

We thank our partners for their support and assistance in implementing extremely important projects that directly affect the comfort and safety of our community!

Systematic work continues to improve living conditions in the dormitories of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic campus for both students and internally displaced persons. During the martial law period in Ukraine, the regular employees of the student campus are working in an intensified mode and, together with charitable organizations and foundations, are helping the affected people: providing them with basic necessities, providing humanitarian aid, and helping with household arrangements.
