Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University took part in a working meeting on the creation of an interdisciplinary double degree program within the framework of the TANDEM UA–DE project

On November 25–26, representatives of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University — Professor of the Department of Management and Administration Nadiya Shmyhol and Associate Professor of this department Andriy Kuts — took part in a working meeting held at the East Bavarian Technical University Amberg-Weiden (OTH Amberg-Weiden, Germany).

The event was organized within the framework of the German-Ukrainian project TANDEM UA–DE, aimed at supporting the modernization of the higher education system of Ukraine and expanding international cooperation. NU “Zaporizhzhya Polytechnic” is an official partner in the grant agreement concluded between OTH Amberg-Weiden and Ukrainian universities, which confirms the strategic role of our institution in the formation of joint European educational programs.

The main goal of the meeting was to continue work on the creation of an interdisciplinary bachelor’s program Double (parallel) Degree in digital technologies and management. During the sessions, the participants discussed the structure of the future program, compared the training modules, determined their equivalence and agreed on further stages of development. Representatives of OTH Amberg-Weiden, KPI named after Igor Sikorsky, Lutsk NTU and specialists from the university’s quality and international cooperation departments.

The following issues were considered:
– OTH Amberg-Weiden’s international strategy and experience in implementing double degree programs
– examples of successful international programs, in particular cooperation with the University of West Bohemia
– quality assurance requirements, accreditation procedures and standards
– updating the status of the implementation of the TANDEM UA–DE project and agreeing on further steps
– structure and content of the modules of the joint double degree program
– assessment of learning outcomes in online courses, including proctoring and quality indicators

Nadiya Shmygol and Andriy Kuts presented the university’s achievements, in particular proposals for integrating academic disciplines into a joint program. During the discussions, a preliminary structure of modules was agreed, covering digital technologies, management, innovation, intercultural communication, elements of practical training and a system for assessing educational outcomes.

The TANDEM UA–DE project, funded by the DAAD, involves the creation of a sustainable German-Ukrainian university network, the development of 20 joint educational modules, the formation of an English-language double degree program, the development of a network of graduates and advanced training of administrative staff. Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic’s participation in this project will contribute to the integration of the university into the European educational space and open up additional opportunities for students and teachers.

Following the results of the meeting, the parties determined a plan of further actions, which includes finalizing curricula, detailing modules, coordinating procedures for recognizing learning outcomes, and forming a quality assurance and academic integrity system.
