International webinar on remote laboratories

On March 6, the Department of Software hosted an International Webinar on Remote Laboratories. The event was attended by Professor Gustavo R. Alves, PhD, from the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, Portugal (ISEP, Politecnico do Porto, Portugal) and Professor Manuel Eduardo Macías García, PhD, from the Institute of Technology and Higher Studies of Monterrey, Mexico (Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, México), as well as 36 representatives of various departments of Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University.

Foreign partners introduced the Zaporizhia Polytechnic community to the possibilities of free use of the network of available remote laboratories in physics, electronics, electrical engineering, automation and robotics, energy, chemistry, and biology. Such capacities will significantly expand the possibilities of organizing distance learning using real high-cost equipment from leading partner universities in remote mode.

The Head of the Department of Software Tools Serhiy Subbotin and the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Technology Serhiy Leoshchenko made short reports, where they spoke about the experience of implementing remote laboratories.

International cooperation, interests and needs of the Polytechnic were presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Information Security and Electronic Communications Natalia Furmanova, Professor of the Department of Integrated Welding Technologies and Structural Modeling Mykhailo Brykov, Associate Professor of the Department of Computer Systems and Networks Iryna Zelenyova and Head of the Center for Internationalization and International Cooperation Alina Kazurova.
