Lecture on barrier-free Zaporizhia Polytechnic

On May 22, a lecture “Barrier-free as a system of equal opportunities” was held for students and teachers of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University. The lecture is dedicated to the basics of barrier-free access, as well as the development of a culture of respect and dignity. The speaker was Yana Artyukh, a specialist in interaction with the media and the public of Zaporizhia Customs.

During the lecture, the participants learned:
— definition and concept of an inclusive environment
— types of barrier-free access and ideas of each direction
— ways of implementing inclusion in society
— rules for communication without barriers

After the speech, the participants talked with the lecturer. Lively discussion contributed to better assimilation of the material, added practical context to the lecture, and created an atmosphere of engagement.

The event was organized within the framework of the National Accessibility Week to draw public attention to the need to create an accessible environment and equal opportunities for all citizens by raising awareness of solutions and reforms in the context of creating barrier-free spaces, services, and information.
