International Week for the 125th anniversary of Zaporizhia Polytechnic University: two days of international communication, new ideas and inspiration!

On November 11–12, the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University hosted the International Week, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the university. Over the course of two days, students, faculty, and guests had a unique opportunity to attend guest lectures by experts and partners from the United Kingdom, Serbia, Poland, and Ukraine.

The first day of the event was opened by Dr. David Beatty (University of Liverpool, United Kingdom). In his lecture “Radiation-Aware Navigation and Planning for Mobile Robot Exploration in the Nuclear Industry”, he presented modern approaches to the navigation of mobile robots in environments with increased radiation levels, as well as the possibilities of adapting such technologies for other industries.

The next speaker was Professor Andjelka Mihajlov (Serbia) – Environmental Ambassador for Sustainable Development, former Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Republic of Serbia. Her report “Environmental Security and Environmental Sustainability” was devoted to current challenges and strategies for ensuring environmental security and sustainable development.

The second day of the International Week was no less eventful. Representatives of the Superhumans Center (Lviv) – Hryhoriy Hryhorenko and Arkady Bohdan – shared their experience in using 3D technologies in medicine and spoke about a multidisciplinary approach to prosthetics and rehabilitation.

The event was concluded by Dr. Oleksandr Solomakha, director of MW-Engineering (Poland), a former employee of the University of Stuttgart (Germany). In his lecture “Digital Twins as a Tool for Accelerating Engineering Innovations”, he spoke about the practical experience of creating digital twins for mechanical engineering, energy, and the automotive industry.

The International Week was an excellent opportunity to jointly discuss modern scientific, engineering, and technological achievements. The event united the university community around the ideas of internationalization, partnership development, and experience exchange.

We sincerely thank all lecturers and participants for their activity, interesting questions, and lively communication! Together we are building a space of open knowledge, international interaction and an innovative future!
