1st International Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Problems of Discourseology, Translation Studies and Teaching Methods"
On November 21, the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation hosted the 1st International Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Problems of Discourse Studies, Translation Studies and Teaching Methods” dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University.
The event was co-organized by higher education institutions from Ukraine and abroad: National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, National University “Dnipro Polytechnic”, Donetsk National University named after Vasyl Stus, State University “Zhytomyr Polytechnic”, Kherson National Technical University (Ukraine), Dyal Singh College (Karnal, India), Cardiff University (Wales).
The conference was attended by over 200 representatives of the teaching staff and students of three levels of higher education from Ukraine, Great Britain, Wales, Poland, Germany and India.
The participants of the event were welcomed by the rector of the Zaporizhia Polytechnic National University Viktor Greshta, acting dean of the Faculty of Humanities Tetyana Khitrova, acting Head of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Natalia Zhukova.
The reports at the plenary session were presented by prominent world-renowned scientists and practitioners who covered a wide range of topics, demonstrating the importance of language and translation as a tool of influence and understanding, and also shared their thoughts on the further development of teaching methods in the era of artificial intelligence:

The work of the sections was devoted to the study of complex aspects of language as a tool of communication and culture. The participants focused on the analysis of discursive-textual systems, consideration of current problems of terminology and industry translation in the context of technological changes and European integration. A significant block of works covered the issues of linguopoetics, stylistic interpretation of works of art and intercultural communication. Special attention was paid to the methodology of teaching foreign languages, in particular the integration of artificial intelligence, the development of intercultural competence and improving the quality of language education.
