Professor Edward J. Brantmeier’s research interests include issues of education and social equity, sustainable leadership for peace, and cultural competence. The professor has delivered scientific lectures at universities in many countries around the world: India, Nepal, Brazil, Great Britain, Austria, Canada, Germany, Finland, Cyprus, Nigeria, and Kosovo. In 2009, he was a Fulbright-Nehru Fellow in Peace Studies at the Malawi Center for Peace Studies (India). He is the author of the books “Culturally Competent Engagement: A Mindful Approach” (2020), “Pedagogy of Vulnerability” (2020), “Re-envisioning Higher Education: Embodied Paths to Wisdom and Social Transformation” (2013), “Spirituality, Religion and Peace Education” (2010), “147 Tips for Teaching Peace and Reconciliation” (2009), “Transforming Education for Peace” (2008), is on the editorial board of the journal “Infactis Pax: Journal of Peace Education and Social Justice”, and is also the editor-in-chief of the scientific publication “Journal of Peace Education”.
