A safe space for children of the Dniprorudnenskaya community to study at Zaporizhia Polytechnic University

In January, the renovation of a safe space with an area of 275.96 m² for the education of children from the Dniprorudnenskaya community, in particular students of the “Talant” school, was completed. The corridor, 2 bathrooms, 2 classrooms and the teacher’s room were renovated.

Main works:
– dismantling, repair of floors, walls and ceilings, painting
– complete replacement of the lighting system and sockets
– installation of new equipment and a boiler
– installation of FBS opposite the windows, replacement of doors with plastic ones, purchase of convectors for autonomous heating
– equipment for uninterrupted internet was installed.

After the enemy drone strike, the windows in the classrooms were also replaced, and the damage to the premises was repaired.

The space is equipped with modern furniture: desks, chairs, armchairs, regular and interactive whiteboards.

Since January 19, 2026, the space has come to life! Students of the “Talant” school study here, and there are groups of the Center for Children and Youth Creativity, a music school, and consultations for children of the community.

The creation of a safe space was made possible thanks to the combined efforts of the Dniprodzerzhynsk City Military Administration and a wide range of international and Ukrainian partners:
– NU “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic”
– Japan-Ukraine Friendship Association, NPO “Krayany”
– “Friendly Circle of Ukraine” from Bad Oldesloe (Germany)
– charitable foundations “UA FRI” and “Peace for the Future”

The project continues its implementation, is being scaled up for other communities so that the safe basement areas of the university can be used by their students for study and development.
