On licensing the provision of educational services
Training of foreign citizens in basic accredited areas and specialties.
Zaporizhzhia National Technical University conducts licensing of educational services in the field of higher education for the training of foreign citizens in basic accredited areas and specialties with a total of 100 people per year. It should be noted that ZNTU has many years of experience in teaching foreign students.
Foreign students have been studying at Zaporizhzhia National Technical University since 1973. During the period from 1978 to 2011, about 1,200 foreign citizens from 72 countries of the world graduated from ZNTU. In 2010, ZNTU graduated 17 specialists with full higher education and 12 bachelors. Among them are citizens of Jordan, Tunisia, Russia, China, Bangladesh. Two students received diplomas with honors.
In the 2010-2011 academic year, 81 students from 21 countries of the world are studying at ZNTU. Of these, 10 are students of the preparatory department.
Recently, foreign students have shown interest in both technical and humanities. But the advantage remains in technical specialties. The largest number of foreign students study at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Foreign students also show interest in new computer specialties.
The appearance of the Institute of Management and Law in the structure of the university has provided an opportunity to expand the list of specialties in which educational services are provided to foreign citizens. So today, foreign students master such specialties as: «Personnel Management and Labor Economics», «Journalism», «Physical Education».
In general, Zaporizhzhia National Technical University provides training in 49 specialties of technical, economic, and humanitarian directions. Therefore, the continuation of the activity of providing educational services to foreign citizens is a promising direction of the university’s development and will contribute to consolidating the university’s leading positions in the regional educational services market.
Preparation of foreign citizens for admission to higher educational institutions.
Since 1991, the university has operated a preparatory department for foreign citizens. Zaporizhzhia National Technical University also conducts licensing activities for the preparation of foreign citizens for admission to higher educational institutions with a licensed volume of 75 people per year. Over the years of preparing foreign citizens for admission to higher educational institutions, about 300 students have received certificates of completion of the preparatory department. Zaporizhzhia National Technical University has a material and technical base for language training of foreign citizens, specialized equipped classrooms for studying the Russian (Ukrainian) language, and an experienced teaching staff. Continuing activities to prepare foreign citizens for admission to higher educational institutions will allow the university to continue to graduate students from the preparatory department and qualitatively form the composition of future foreign students of our university and the Zaporizhzhia region as a whole.
